Dear Ms Chan,

I am writing on behalf of Class 5C about the water fountain on the third floor, which has been out of order since last Monday.

During both recesses, students now crowd the only working fountain on the ground floor. Several of us have been late for Period 5, and in this heat a long queue is more than a small inconvenience. Two classmates bought drinks they did not want simply to have something cold.

Would it be possible for the caretaker to inspect the fountain this week? If a part must be ordered, a temporary bottle station on 3/F — even a dispenser on a trolley — would ease the queue. Our class is willing to print and put up a notice so that students stop pressing the broken tap.
